Patch Jenden’s 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3100 started with a fairly simple idea — an old-school pickup with modern running gear underneath.
It didn’t stay simple for long.
As the project developed, Patch’s vision grew, and so did the challenges. Over two and a half years, the Real Rides team worked through the engineering, fabrication and finishing needed to turn the idea into a complete, road-legal custom truck.
The goal was never just to build something that looked good sitting still. It had to drive properly too.
The finished Apache made its competition debut at Repco Beach Hop, taking a Top Five finish.
Now there’s another milestone to add to the journey — Patch’s Apache is on the cover of NZV8 Magazine’s September/October issue, with a feature inside covering the build.
