Chevy C10 Build – Day 6

Big day today! I got an early start and headed off into the big smoke to pick up parts, as we’re not trusting the delivery time of couriers at the moment (no offense couriers).

We had 4 guys working on the cab for most of the day, finishing off repairs and getting it into primer. The cab is now fully sanded and ready for topcoat tomorrow morning. We also got our first glimpse of the second colour today; a satin metallic brown, which will complement the leather seat being picked up in the next couple of days.

The floor has been prepped ready for black epoxy tomorrow. Rust repairs have been completed on the front inner guards, and they are now in primer, as are the doors, grille panel, and wiper panel. The underside of the hood has been prepped.

The new big-ass radiator has been mounted to the rad support. We’ve also cut out the old radio and ash tray and reworked the dash in preparation for the new stereo and reversing camera. The exhaust has been mocked up as far as the diff, and the rear axles have been removed for a 5-stud conversion to suit the new wheels being picked up tomorrow.

That’s it for today, I guess we’ll see y’all tomorrow!
