One of several cars finished in the last week, this ZD Fairlane was originally built for David, but sadly he passed away before it could be finished. Now, after a 5 year hiatus, David’s family has brought the car back to us in order to get it finished in memory of their car-crazy Father and Husband.
Running a tough 351 Windsor and AODE 4-speed trans, with XR8 diff and 4 wheel discs. Sporting brand new American Racing wheels and fresh tyres. We’ve also grafted on some Eleanor-style body mods, as per David’s wishes.
After being fitted out with Mongoose Q-Mat sound deadener, the interior has undergone a full refresh, including new SAAS woodgrain steering wheel, seat belts, carpets, dash pad and trims. In addition to painting the center console, we’ve also repainted all the plastic interior parts with a special vinyl paint to better complement the cream colour of the seats. To add a touch of modern comfort, we’ve installed a reversing camera, plus a brand new stereo and speaker set up.
We can only hope that David would be as happy with the finished product as we are.
