Well, hey there folks! Happy New Year!
After a nice little break, our team has returned to work to make a start on Seth’s Chevy C10 restoration, which we are hoping to have ready in time for the Kumeu Classic Car & Hot Rod Festival… 10 days from now.
As expected, today was a day of organizing and getting the ball rolling. Lots of progress, but nothing exciting. The parts sent off to the sandblasters before Christmas have been picked up, and everything needing rust repairs has been handed over to our fabrication boys in the main shop.
Meanwhile, the chassis has been stripped, engine and tranny dummy fitted, EFI fuel tank fitted, we’ve finished a trial fit on the engine and trans, removed all parts from the chassis, and got everything ready to receive an epoxy undercoat in the morning.
Once the fabrication team completed the rust repairs, the panels were handed over to the paint shop to be epoxy primed.
Bring on day 2!
