Monday, day 8 of our 12-day 1963 SS Impala build.
Today assembly really began in earnest. Both doors have been refitted to the car, along with all catches, latches and 1/4 windows. The side window weather seals have all been installed, as well as a new rear screen.
Following on from Saturday’s installation of the springs and hinges, the trunk lid has been installed. Both front guards have been buffed, and are now ready to be fitted. The front and sides of the car have also been buffed, in preparation for the trims to go on tomorrow.
Finally, the radiator support is on, and the steering column and wheel are in. New rear partition board and parcel shelf covers have been made, and the wipers and wiper panel have been fitted.
